SIX 30-ft.-long, 8-ft.-wide Titan double-decker bus chassis are now offered by Leyland Motors, Ltd. They are 18-ft.-6-in.-wheelbase models, rated for a maximum gross vehicle weight of 13 tons 2 cwt. All have a turning circle of 65 ft. 6 in.
Basically similar to the shorterwheelbase chassis constructed for 27-ft. bodies, the 30-ft. chassis have heavyduty road springs, and, in the case of vacifurn-braked models, a larger servo and manual brake adjusters. The new chassis are only 1 cwt. heavier than the 27-ft. versions.
Potteries Motor Traction Co., Ltd., have ordered 15 of the new Titans, and similar orders for P03/4 models have been received from Trent Motor Traction Co., Ltd. (44), East Midland Motor Services, Ltd. (7), and J. James and Sons, Ltd. (2).
The following table gives details of the new chassis.
The PD3.1, P03.2 and P03.3 models have concealed radiators and the P03.4, PD3.5 and P133.6 have exposed radiators.
