* A Manchester industrial tribunal has rejected a claim for reinstatement by van driver Graham Tolley. He was sacked by Home Express Network because it believed he had been involved in an accident which he had failed to report.
* British Fuels fired driver Philip Hopps for spilling oil at a custamer's premises, tachograph misuse and returning tachograph charts late. A Leeds Industrial Tribunal concluded that this was unfair because Hopps had not been warned, but it found that Hopps was 40% to blame.
* A Hull Industrial Tribunal has ordered driver Steven Naylor to pay token costs of 120 after deciding that his claim for unfair dis,missal against Bibby Distribution Services had no reasonable prospect of success. Naylor was sacked because the company believed he was guilty of theft.
* A Birmingham Industrial Tribunal has decided that Round Oak Motors Services acted fairly in selecting driver Brian Clayton for redundancy on the basis that he did not hold a Class 1 HGV licence.
