• The West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance Service is removing bull bars from its emergency vehicles following reports that they can increase the severity of pedestrians in the event of an accident.
Mark Squires, the service's Fleetcare workshop manager, says the modifications will be complete within four weeks.
The fleet comprises 53 Ford Transits, 30 Ford Ivecos and 30 Volkswagen LT35s, many of which were supplied with bull bars fitted. a
