MI A racehorse went berserk while being driven along the M25 in a horse transporter, smashing his way into the cab arid pushing his head through the cab windscreen.
Claire Mortimer-Ricks, the driver of the Ince Ford, pulled on to the hard shoulder between Junctions eight and nine near Leatherhead with the front half of the three-year-old colt sticking out over the bonnet.
The motorway was closed in both directions until a vet arrived to sedate the animal.
The horse was being taken from Brighton to Newmarket trainer Luca Cumani. A spokeswoman for Cumani's stable says the horse probably just wanted to get out. "He was a little stiff next morning," she added. "Claire handled it very well and was back at work next morning, none the worse for the experience."
