• Alison Philips has been put in charge of Exel Logistics' BMW parts distribution contract.
Philips, who joined Exel four years ago as a graduate management trainee, replaces distribution manager Fred Rowland, who has moved on to Exel's new contract with ICL.
She will be based at BMW's British headquarters in Bracknell, controlling vehicles nationwide. Exel has held the BMW parts contract since 1980; it is due for renewal in 1992.
RATCLIFF TURNER
• Ratcliff Tail Lifts has appointed Pam Turner to the newly created position of northern technical sales representative.
Based in Sheffield, Turner will oversee passenger lift sales in all areas north of the Midlands, including Scotland.
Turner has more than eight years' experience in the field of disabled passenger carriage.
GARDNER STEWART
• Rob Stewart has been promoted to general sales manager at Gardner, the Manchester-based diesel engine manufacturer. He was formerly parts sales and marketing manager.
Stewart is responsible for all Gardner products.
PAR CELINE KEWEN
• ParceLine has appointed its first woman operations manager. Karen Kewen will be based at the company's Newcastle depot and will be responsible for 75 staff and 120 routes throughout the Tyne Tees area.
She has worked at Parceline for five years.
