CLOSE co-operation between bodymaker and operator is evident in an Austin 5-ton tipper which has been supplied to E_astwoods, Ltd., the wellknown building material and public works contractor, by Weybridge Automobiles, Ltd., Queens Road, Weybridge.
The body has been specially made by Anthony Hoists, Ltd., Minerva Road, London, N.W.10, for use in a cementworks quarry, and is designed to stand up to abnormal usage, such as the dropping , of 1 arge boulders into it from a great height.
Outwardly, the body is at once notable for its scow-type rear end and overhanging detachable cab guard, the latter f ea t ur e, nevertheless, being one which is employed on many other bodies made by this concern.
The high-tensile-steel electrically welded body is of particularly sturdy construction, with transverse ribs through out, the floor sheet being • of 12-gauge steel with longitudinal superimposed angle members placed apex-upwards to take any impact.
