BUS AND COACH operators are being urged to withhold levy to the Road Transport Industry Training Board until the legality of netting statements is clarified.
A spokesman for the Confederation of British Road Passenger Transport said that industry disquiet on two grounds has been questioned. One is about nil point value for training and the other about a levy which appears to charge psv operators for the cost of winding up their side of the RT1TB's activities.
It has sought the RTITB's clarification about whether it is legal for operators to be charged for anything other than training.
The doubt has arisen as a result of the Government's plans to turn over the bus and coach industry's training to a voluntary basis.
