THE "baby" of today's range is the Lacre Module and a turning circle of only 5.86m (19.25ft) makes manoevrability its strong asset.
Built of an all-steel welded and bolted construction, the chassis cab offers a firm base for the tipping dirt container with a capacity of 0.76cum (1cuyd).
A Ford four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1,599cc (97.6cuin) is used to provide the vehicle with a travelling speed of 24km / h (15mph) and cleaning speed of up to 15.7km/ h (8.5mph). Although the vehicle is only 1.57m (62in) wide with the brushes in a stowed position when in use a sweep of 1.9m (75in) can be obtained.
A 270-litre 60gal water supply feeds a high-pressure pump which feeds individually controlled sprays used to assist the retractable gutter brushes. The multi-segment main brush is driven hydraulically.
The cab contains a high proportion of glass and should provide all-round visibility. The driving position can be positioned on either side but is best placed to coincide with the kerb. An hydrostatic transmission provides the means of travel in a forward or reverse direction at the touch of a lever without the need for clutch or gearbox.
Fully laden, the vehicle weighs 3.3 tonnes (3.25 tons) with a maximum payload of 1,018kg (1 ton).
