Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The review, by Neil Peet CM1622 Dec 1999) of 100 years of road haulage made interesting reading (CM16-22 Dec 1999). However, for the record, I should like to correct one slight inaccuracy. The Leyland Steer, introduced in November 1937, was not the "original Chinese six. The Steer was in fact a mildly re-designed twin-steer Beaver Six, this model having been announced in January 1937 (CMS Jan 1937).

ERE, however, had delivered its first twin-steer sixwheeler back in May 1936. Perhaps somebody at Leyland spotted this vehicle on its way north to the customer in Edinburgh and was inspired to get busy on the drawing-board! AR Ping, Fordingbridge, Hants.
