It has to be admitted that I have a very I soft spot for BP Truckstops. They serve great Food, the facilities and shop are very good and, most important of all, they sell my Heathrow Flyers cassettes. Being a self-employed trucker I was a bit upset when they stopped Keyfuels last year, as that was my bunkering card, so I started using my local BP garages in the Heathrow area and was impressed at the BP Price Watch promotion. However, last week I called into BP South Mimms to fill up on the old faithful Switch Card and when I looked at the pump price I didn't know whether to fill up or buy a villa in Marbella. How on earth does the busiest diesel station in the country manage to a achieve a price of 63.5p/lit? In old money that's nearly ten bob a gallon more. Surely on the massive amount of dery that South Mimms buys in they should get the cheapest possible rate from the fuel company and pass it on to the truckers who are Truckstops' lifeline.

PS: Yes, of course I have written a song about it and look forward to seeing everybody at TruckFest in May.
