Show goes on despite hotel fire
TIP-EX IS UNAFFECTED by the recent fire at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate.
In previous years, the hotel has been a focal point for the show, however, Dave Tallent, director of the show organiser, says: "We are fortunate we had been given permission to display vehicles in Crescent Gardens and Montpellier Road directly opposite the [show] halls.Th is gives us a much bigger area [for] operators to view the very best in tipping trucks, trailers and equipment."
The show's gala dinner is still due to be held at the Majestic because the hotel's owners are confident the repair work will be completed in time. However, contingency plans are in place if this is not the case.
Meanwhile, a conference, organised in association with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, will take place on the first day of the event, focusing on telematics, compliance, fuel saving and finance.
• Tip-ex takes place on 27-29 May. Admission is free. Go to www:tip-ex10.com for more information.
