• A furniture firm which had a clean record for more than 50 years has been fined a total of £540 by Warley magistrates after admitting six tachograph charges. At a hearing last week Smethwick-based Levine Brothers pleaded guilty to six charges of failing to enter information on tachograph charts and three charges of failing to return charts within 21 days. Julie Sealeaf, prosecuting, said the offences were spotted during a routine police check in the Sandwell area in May. The family firm runs its own transport operation.
