With reference to your feature Turkish Delight (CM 6-12 Nov).
In 1996 we undertook a series of driver training courses for Russian drivers who were working for a Russian company driving UK-registered vehicles.
At that time the UK insurance company required the Russian drivers to be in pos
session of the relevant UK driving licences before they would insure the vehicles. This involved them taking both a group B (car) and LGV driving test.
Unless the insurance companies have changed their criteria, many of these Turkish drivers may be driving without adequate insurance cover. Edward Pargeter, EP Training Services, Leatherhead 0 See our insurance feature on page 40—Ed.
