Scania and Daf snub CV Show
SCANIA AND DAF have pulled out of exhibiting at next year's Commercial Vehicle Show, with both manufacturers aing the current economic woes that are plaguing the industry.
Scania insists it is "committed" to the event, set to start on 28 April 2009 at the Birmingham NEC, and will exhibit in 2010. Hans-Christer Holgersson, managing director for Scania (Great Britain), says: 'While the downturn in the global economy and the diff icult trading conditions our industry is experiencing cannot be ignored, we have decided to redirect our resources for 2009 towards local marketing campaigns instead." Speaking to CM, Daf marketing director Tony Pain says: "We have withdrawn from the CV Show on the basis of minimising our operating costs. I am a great supporter of the CV Show and would like to return in 2010."
