• National Welsh is introducing several new bus services in Rhymney Valley, including a new Bustler C10 minibus service from Bargoed to Pontlottyn and an hourly service linking Merthyr Tydfil with Bar.. goed. There will also be more services on the Caerphilly to Pontypridd route and route 50, between Bargoed and Newport.
• A "say no to strangers" campaign for children has been launched by Grampian Transport to bring home the danger of talking to strangers. One bus has been painted in a special orange livery and will continue in normal service. The company says it is also now available for schools to rent.
• A strike by 300 drivers at London Buses' Hanwell garage brought seven services off the road on 5/6 October.
