• The latest light-duty MIG welder from Murex, the TradesMarc 151, is intended for both DIY and professional use and, accordingly, will run from a 240V113A domestic supply.
Standard features include a five or 15kg filler wire facility, thermal overload protection, a 30150A output range, undergear and cylinder carrier plus a simple two-knob control system.
The manufacturer claims that the factory-fitted 150A welding torch is rugged and hard wearing and that the machine can also be used with self-shielding, fluxcored wire for no-gas operation. Under normal welding conditions the 151 will operate with either 0.6 or 0.8mm filler wire, but 1.0nun diameter wire can be used if a larger feed roller is fitted as an optional extra.
Despite having just the twp controls, the operator still has a total of seven voltage settings to choose from plus the all-important wire speed adjustment, The unit weighs 40kg and is supplied with instruction manual and a comprehensive range of accessories. The price is £412 (inc-VAT).
