.1-3. A SINGLE-DECK express p.s.v., a dual-purpose ambulance and a road/ rail container are the three subjects chosen for the 1963-64 body design competition organized by the Institute of British Carriage and Automobile Manufacturers in association with three other natioqal manufacturing and trade bodies.
The express service coach body is to be to 36 ft. by 8 ft. 2} in. box dimensions and must conform with current M.o.T. regulations; the dual-purpose ambulance body is to be designed to carry a stretcher
and sitting cases and to conform with N.H.S. Act recommendations. In each case the first prize is £100 and a visit to a Continental motor show, second prize is £60 and third, £40.
The road/rail container is to be a 12ton-payload all-metal unit with fq1I-width end doors. First prize here is £40, second £20 and third, £10.
