AT THE congress of the International Transport Workers Federation in Miami, Florida, the Transport and General Workers Union opposition to sleeper • cabs has been fully supported.
The TGWU's call for an international network of assistance for transport workers was also endorsed by the ITF congress.
The aim is that a transport worker abroad should be able to call on union officials in the country he is visiting should he have an accident, breakdown or illness.
