A TRACTOR UNIT and three trailers were destroyed in afire at an industrial estate in Maldon, Essex during the early hours of Saturday morning. Three fire engines were called to the Quayside industrial estate at 4am on 8 September — firefighters took about an hour to bring the blaze under control. Experts from the Environment Agency were called to the site during the incident because approximately 13,000 litres of diesel and 2,500 litres of hydrau lic oil had leaked into the water course through the drains.
An investigation wilt take place into the cause of the fire and its environmental consequences.
