GIST WANTS permission for six vehicles and 11 trailers at the Tulip facility in Dukinield, Greater Manchester. The logistics giant is also looking to base a trailer at the Tulip site in Bromborough, Wirral.
In February, Tulip awarded a ive-year, £50m distribution contract to Gist.
Under the agreement, Gist will transport raw and inished pork products between factories, as well as to Tulip customers such as wholesalers and retailers.
About 60 employees have transferred to Gist under TUPE regulations, and 20 vehicles have switched over into Gist’s leet. Gist says the main focus of operations will be in the Midlands and East Anglia.
