• John Fuller: Spandlers, Great Yarmouth "I'm absolutely delighted—more money was needed and this takeover will provide it. To do what it needed with the IT systems it required investment and, in order to do that, it delivered the number-four system to Business Post. We've always wanted to be number one in the market and now we've got the tool.
"We've been in for three years and have built every single day. We are now up to three or four trunks per night. If some operators decide they don't want to be part of it then fair enough, there will always be others that do. We are really pleased about it. We did have concerns ourselves about stunted growth through a lack of working capital. We were asking ourselves if we had taken it as far as we could. But now all these reservations have been taken away.
"I think some of the other networks will be quaking in their boots!"
• Adam Stevenson: Allegro Transport, Alfreton "This should be a very positive step—I hope that the investment that's been promised will push us forward. Obviously the stronger they get, the stronger service we can offer to customers. Weaver had grown a hell of a lot in the last year and in all fairness to them, although the people down there work very hard, there's only so much you can physically do without investment. That's now there and hopefully it will push it forward."
