• by Whin Barnett Following CeWs recent review of the Clean Air Partners (CAP)-Hardstaff joint venture to convert Caterpillar-powered Fodens to dual-fuel (CM 3-9 July), the project has entered a new phase.
Clean Air Partners, the Californian manufacturer of the technology, is to set up as own production facility in the Midlands to accommodate the larger volumes anticipated. Sales and service will be through a larger network recruited from existing Faden dealers.
Nottingham-based T Baden Hardstaff, the UK end of the current joint venture, will continue to supply hardware subassemblies and support the new direct operation.
Although the structure of the new operation is still to be finalised, it is expected that Mike Ellithorn-the recently appointed MD and CEO of CAP-Hardstaff -will continue to occupy a senior position
