• Kirkcaldy-based Thomas Muir (Haulage) is considering an appeal to the Court of Session after the Transport Tribunal dismissed its appeal against the revocation of its licence for 50 vehicles and 18 trailers by Scottish LA Michael Betts.
Licence suspended
• The licence held by Oldham-based P8rW Connolly (Contractors) was suspended indefinitely when the company failed to appear at a Manchester disciplinary inquiry. North Western LA Martin Albu said he was concerned about the company's maintenance arrangements.
Fleet cut
• The authorisation on the licence held by IA & C Madver, of Stornoway, has been cut from 10 vehicles and eight trailers to seven vehicles and seven trailers. Scottish LA Michael Betts said that he would be unlikely to consider any increase in authorisation for at least 12 months.
No foundation
• The Transport Tribunal has dismissed an appeal by the Royal County of Berkshire, against the decision of Western LA Ron Ashford granting a new onevehicle licence to Gibson and Piercy (Scaffolding), of Reading. The Tribunal said that the challenge to the LA's decision was without foundation.
