AINSWORTH & MARTIN has become the latest victim of highvalue load theft in the run-up to Christmas four of its trucks loaded with £250,000 worth of alcohol have been stolen From a secure compound in Gloucester.
Gloucestershire police have recovered the trucks. but without their loads of canned and bottled beer (mainly Stella Artois, Boddingtons and Becks).
A spokesman for the Preston, Lancs-based company, who is confident that the thieves will be caught, reports that the vehicles were locked away in a warehouse on the Quedgeley Trading Estate in Gloucester. The site is equipped with CCTV cameras.
A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire police says: "We have had quite a few calls from members of the public and if anybody else has any information they can ring 0845 090 1234 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
The theft took place in the early hours of Sunday 3 December; the vehicles were recovered in Chepstow and Caldicot.
