• The Road Haulage Association regions' annual round of wage bargaining is drawing to a close with three more regions signing agreements and only three left to settle.
The East Midlands Joint Industrial Council has reached a one-year agreement, offering 6.04% on wages and £1.50 per night for subsistence. The Kent Assenting Group begins a ninemonth agreement from 1 April, worth 6.66% on wages (5.5% in a full year) and £1.50 on subsistence. The Sheffield and South Yorkshire region — which has previously refused to meet the unions — has signed a 12-month agreement worth 7.5% on wages, from 1 April but with no increase on subsistence.
