• An unusual continuous hinge from Cheltenham-based lndalex has been adopted by Boalloy as a standard fitting for the side doors on its Linkliner range of van bodies. The Rotalex hinge comprises an extrudedaluminium gear mechanism operating within a one-piece covered channel that provides a high security seal but allows the two hinge arms pivotal movement.
Axial forces are resisted by inter-spaced, load-hearing inserts while the cover resists high shear loadings, especially the end shocks when fitted to sliding door bodywork. Used on side access doors, the hinge opens through 180° and is both full length and flush-fitting.
In addition to being weather and dirt resistant the Rotalex hinge can absorb greater knocks from shifting loads than individual hinges.
