AT last Friday's sitting in Edinburgh of the Southern Scotland Traffic Commissioners, it was intimated that the railway companies were objecting to free travel by children on certain corporation bus routes. Mr. A. Henderson, chairman, said that the present age limit for free travel on Edinburgh corporation's buses was four years, whereas the railway proposal was that the age should he three.
Similar representations had been made with regard to Glasgow Corporation's services.
Mr. Henderson described various categories of bus service, and remarked that the Commissioners did not look 'upon the matter as one for the sweeping decisions made elsewhere. They felt that they must hear at least one case in each category. If, for example, Glasgow Corporation considered that it had a different case from Edinburgh Corporation, the Commissioners would hear each.
