RED FORGE, of Redditch Worcestershire, has introduced an axleload indicator suitable for light vehicles carrying up to a 1,778kg (35cwt) payload.
Called Limitlite, the unit incorporates solid-state electronics and can be mounted on any strong point under the floor of the vehicle requiring no welding or drilling of axles.
Simple "go, no-go" signals are displayed to the driver and Red Forge claims an accuracy better than plus of minus five per cent in service. The unit can be transferred easily from one vehicle to another and is unaffected by dirty conditions.
Both audible and visual signals are housed in a compact display unit which is compatible with small vehicle instrument displays.
