KENT-MOORE UK has added a remote optical tachometer to its Dieselcare Serviceaid range of engine service tools and equipment.
The KM 4024 is a digital optical tachometer which can take engine-speed readings remotely from the rotating part. This has been achieved by removing the light beam sender/receiver from the main instrument and constructing it into a small remote unit connected by a lm (3ft 3in) long cable.
It can also be used in the conventional way by plugging the remote unit directly into the main instrument.
The light beam has a range of up to lm at plus or minus 45 degrees and the instrument measures speeds from 50 to 20,00Orpm.
Batteries are supplied with the complete unit together with a supply of reflective tape and is all fitted into a foam-lined storage/carry case.
As an accessory to the KM 4024, a contact kit, 4025, is available to allow readings to be taken by mechanical contact. The kit includes a convertor, contact cone and two contact wheels to measure linear speeds in feet per minute and tenths of a metre per minute.
