SURREY County Council has confirmed that it is to appoint an independent consultant to look at the proposal drawn up by three Surrey independent bus operators to take over subsidised bus services in Guildford at present operated by Alder Valley and London County (CM January 7).
The consultant is expected to be appointed very soon and his report should be completed by the spring.
The three operators, Tillingbourne Bus Company, Blue Saloon Coaches and Safeguard would like to take over 13 routes which they consider they could run at a profit.
