Trailer landing legs should combine strength, durability and low weight, never more so than when installed on a tipping trailer, where weight is especially critical and the operating environment harsh. Trailer-axle manufacturer BPW has entered the market with its in-house-designed landing gear, claiming it has all the desired attributes. The leg’s mounting plate extends down the whole length of the leg and the lower edge of the outer section is reinforced to protect against distortion from lateral forces. The legs are said to be maintenance-free for three years. They weigh about 95kg per pair, believed to be 5kg to 15kg less than much of the competition. Despite introducing these new legs, BPW continues to distribute Haacon landing legs in the UK.
