WRITING IN LAST week’s Autocar (6 June issue), Colin Goodwin has penned an open letter to the Road Haulage Association in praise of CV drivers.
“You wouldn't believe how inconsiderate drivers are about slowing down so that we can cross [the A308, near Hampton Court]. I’ve noticed that when someone eventually flashes us to cross, it’s a van or truck driver who does so.
“Frequently, it is CV drivers who show patience and common sense on the road. I’ve driven trucks before and it takes a lot of skill and foresight. Perhaps that’s why the people who drive them for a living seem to have a lot of patience. [CV drivers] deserve a bit of praise once in a while.” Hear, hear!
