A SWEDISH company, Agora, has begun to manufacture a wheelnut locking device called the Rollock for which it claims to have patents pending in several countries. The device is a spring-steel plate which fits over a pair of nuts and prevents them from loosening by means of the spring's tension and the grip of the teeth cut into the plate.
Agora recommends the use of four plates for a ten-stud wheel. When the nuts have been tightened to the correct torque setting, the plates should be hammered into place over them with a special tool.
Agora says that the nuts may be released in the normal way, with a wheel spanner, the teeth of the locking plate bending upwards.
More information on the Rollock is available from A.B. Agora, PO Box 4086, S-350 04 Vaxjo, Sweden.
