Whale Tankers' latest product cleans up in tunnels contracts
WHALE TANKERS IS used to building some specialised kit, but the Solihull firm's latest product operates in a very niche application. The Volvo FE320 6x2 now operating for
Industrial Water Jetting Services is used to wash the interior walls of tunnels on contracts throughout the UK and Ireland.
Some 6,820 litres of water is carried, with a 1,000-litre detergent IBC. It delivers 152 litres/min at 207 bar, with a separate handheld jetwash lance producing 49 litres/ min at 245 bar. The operator controls the washer head from a self-contained cabin attached to the brush-carrying arm. Power for water pumping comes from a separate six-cylinder lveco N67 diesel engine. Other features include storage and drying areas for the operators' clothing.
