"THE usefulness of a breakdown wagon of the type shown in ou,r illustration was demonstrated a few nights ago, when a motorist., in endeavouring to avoid a girl cyclist at the fork road leading off the new Chester road, Hooton, turned the car on to the sidewalk, with the result that it skidded and capsized.
A telephone message was received at the garage of W. B. Horn, Ltd., at 9.45 p.m., asking for help, and 20 minutes later the Halley breakdown wagon appeared on the scene of the accident. The crane was utilized to lift the badly battered car into position, and as the rear wheels -were twisted in the same manner as the front ones, spare wheels were fitted in order to enable the car to be towed. The front of the vehicle was then suspended from the crane hook and made fast -with hemp ropes to the rear of the Halley wagon. Both vehicles were back at the Birkenhead garage shortly after midnight.
This is the first really serious breakdown which the Halley wagon has tackled, but it demonstrated its all-round
