KENT-BASED HAULAGE firm S&S Distribution says it is pleased with its first year of trading since becoming a limited company.
In its latest accounts for 22 June 2004 to 31July 2005,it has posted a pre-tax profit of £313,099 with a net profit of £202,496. Because it traded as a partnership until the summer of 2004, no figures are available for 2003.
Co-owner David Sanderson says the accounts are in line with its expectations: "For the first year under our new structure, the results are sound. Like the rest of the industry.we've been operating in a tough market with the cost of fuel and lots of competition.but we aren't displeased with the results.
"We're now making investments to drive the business forward."
As part of the process of becoming a limited company, S&S recruited Richard Ball from Tibbett & Britten as MD. He says: -The past year has gone well, and we have gone from strength to strength.
S&S has also promoted Christopher Burt from operations manager to operations director.
The warehousing and property arm of the business continues to trade as a partnership.
