Authority Frederick Whalley has given Webbs Poultry & Meat Group authority for an additional operating centre, but subject to environmental restrictions.
The company had applied to base 10 vehicles and trailers at the Manywells Trading Estate, Manywells, Cullingworth but the application was opposed by local residents (CM 8-14 February).
In his decision, following a site visit, Whalley accepted that the environmental effects from existing activities on the Manywells Trading Estate could he intensified to an in tolerable level if Webbs was allowed unrestricted use of the proposed operating centre.
However, the scale of the proposed operation was small compared with the overall activities on the trading estate. The additional impact on local residents would be insipificant if the company operated in the way that it had proposed during the public inquiry.
He had therefore decided to grant the application subject to three conditions: between 22: 0006:00hrs there must be no more than seven movements of authorised vehicles; no engine must be left running for more than five minutes; and vehicles must be parked away from the houses in Manywell Crescent.
