• Fiat is launching a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel variant of its Ducato panel van at next month's RAI truck show in Amsterdam. It will be available in the UK soon afterwards.
The introduction of the higher-powered diesel engine will pit the larger variants of the Ducato directly against Mercedes-Benz Sprinter panel van and VW's LT35. The VW and Mercedes 2.8-litre directinjection turbo-diesels are both rated at over 120hp and it is likely that Fiat's new Sofim unit will be similarly powered.
