• Transco BG has fitted a further 98 of its fleet vehicles with CompAir Holman's on-board compressor and generator package, VoltAir.
Each package consists of an in-line PTO driving a 6kVA generator and a 100cfm air compressor. This combination is controlled electronically by the same system which manages the vehicle's engine, so engine speed is matched to compressor requirement.
A safety system automatical ly shuts down the compressor if fuel reserves get low, leaving enough for the driver to reach a refuelling point.
The master control panel is conveniently located near the outlet sockets at the rear of the vehicle, and incorporates: a voltmeter; Hertz meter; hour meter; alternator switch and operating warning light; air pressure gauge; compressor oil temperatare gauge and all electric safety circuit breakers.
