Light commercial van registrations rose by 11.2% in June, which could be due to the increase in internet shopping and home deliveries. Growth in the medium and heavy van sectors (1.8-3.5 tonnes GVW) rose by 15.9%. The heavy van market (2.6-3,5 tonnes) showed the biggest growth with a 16.4% growth in June and 16.7% growth for the year to date. Heavy vans accounted for 79% of June's increase in commercial vehicle sales.
