MULTI-FRANCH1SE truck and van dealer Chatfields, in conjunction with fleet management company iFleet, has launched a repair and maintenance contract that relates to actual vehicle use.
The dealer group. which has sites covering the Midlands. the North-West and the NorthEast with DAF Trucks, Renault Trucks, Ford and Nissan Commercials, has launched Chatfields Contracts after consulting with its customers.
The package charges pence-perkilometre travelled per month, rather than a fixed rate.
Wayne Edwards, national franchise director, explains: "After consulting a number of operators. we felt that if we were going to launch our own R&M packages. we had to offer something different.
-Moreover, it had to provide exceptional value for money.
"It was imperative that we utilised the high skill levels and professionalism that currently exists throughout the
Chatficlds Group," he say,,.
Tim Davies, MD of iFleet, says: "This matches revenue earned by operators to the cost of maintaining the vehicle." he says,"which significantly reduces costs incurred should the vehicle he lying idle or during traditional slower periods.
Davies says the package reduces administration and losses normally associated with excess mileage charges."We will provide proactive management of all scheduled and unscheduled events as they occur, documentation and compliance administration, plus a two-way communication device designed to assist the driver in any situation he may find himself while with his vehicle," he says.
