A London freight forwarder angry about the private life of the Transport Minister Stephen Norris is to go ahead with plans to deselect his MP at a meeting in September.
Ron Smith, who had decided not to push for Norris's removal until the aftermath of the local elections had died down, is to press for a deselection meeting in Norris' Epping constituency before Parliament reconvenes in mid-October.
Smith, who is managing director of Arena Maritime, claims the Tory MP's alleged affairs with five mistresses have "taken up a lot of time when he should have been working for the good of our community". Norris has dismissed the move say
ing: No man who dyes his hair can be taken entirely seriously."
