• Evidence that cancer may be developed through the use of mobile phones should make haulage companies more aware of how often their drivers use them, says a leading drivers representative.
Jack Crossfield (pictured) of the Driver's Action Movement was reacting to a new report from a team of Australian researchers describing the effects of constant exposure to the electromagnetic fields emitted by digital mobile phones. "We expect companies to act in a responsible manner," Crossfield says. 'We are hoping that good companies will contact the National Radiological Protection Board, which is investigating the link, and find out what the problems are."
