the latest manufacturer to incur the wrath of a British haulier over prices for replacement vehicle parts on the Continent. Littlehampton-based Link European, which had a vehicle break down north of Calais, says it was quoted £1,222 for fitting a new radiator by Renault's Calais agent following a water leak in the radiator of a Turboliner. Link European refused to pay and the truck was taken to the company's Renault agent in Kent where a price of £560 was quoted. Link transport manager Paul Robinson says: "Renault is taking advantage of hauliers abroad." But a Renault spokesman says the likely reason is that Robinson was offered an exchange radiator in England. He says a new radiator in England costs £1,100—the same as in France. Brendan Conlon, of Irish haulier Brendan Conlon Transport, says Scania agents are overcharging in Spain. In June last year he was charged 700 Irish punts (£600), for the replacement of a starter motor at a Scania agent outside Castellon.
