Commercial Motor went along to British Car Auctions weekly sale at
Belle Vue, Manchester, where Duncan Ward predicted the price of six vans as they went under the hammer.

Ward certainly had plenty of lots to choose from; there were 300 units up for grabs at the 1 June auction. He felt he had to include the Combo among his lots: a bold choice as these were the first Royal Mail Combos lobe directly re-marketed.
We enjoy putting an auctioneer under the spotlight, but there is a serious side to this exercise. Auctioneering isn't just about shouting loudly, waving a hammer around and making sure you spot all those nods, winks and twitching eyebrows: they are expected to price vehicles for vendors to help ensure a sale, as well as sourcing quality products logo before an ever demanding buyer.
