to fit side windows in the body of a vehicle which was purchased free of tax after a period of three years from the original registration date?
A It is legally possible to fit side windows
in your vehicle but you become immediately liable to pay purchase tax. The amount of tax payable is calculated on the current wholesale value of the vehicle. The fact that you have had the vehicle for three years has no bearing on the matter except that, of course, the value is lower than when it was new. Whoever carries out the conversion work must report the fact to the local Customs and Excise department "'forthwith".
