'IN" Ribbons Ltd: is producing a range of nylon webbing for lifting slings, which are claimed to have greater resistance to abrasion and damage than those made from normal synthetic webbings. These slings have been specially designed for applications where loads with sharp edges and corners have to be handled.
The main load-bearing members of the sling are covered with a specially woven PVC impregnated sleeve. This sleeve is free to move with the load, and thus protects the main sling front damage through direct contact.
due to rubbing or cutting move ments. The sleeve, which is of a different weave from the main sling, can be removed and re placed when necessary, leaving the remainder intact. It is also possible to rotate the main sling within the sleeve for inspection purposes.
Slings are available in a range of sizes from 4in. to 12in. wide with lifting capacities from 2 to 8 tons. An additional advantage of the sleeve is that it increases the load-bearing surface for lifting operations.
