• In renewing the licence held by Bromyard-based D&L Contractors for three vehicles, West Midland LA John Mervyn Pugh said the firm could be described as a success story following previous maintenance problems.
No bid
• A bid for a new licence for two vehicles and one trailer by John EL Thomas Transport, of Troon, was refused by Scottish Licensing Authority Michael Betts when the firm failed to appear at a Glasgow public inquiry
Licence refused
• An application for the late renewal of the four-vehicle licence held by Clearfast Waste Services. of Liverpool, was refused when the firm failed to appear before North Western LA Martin Albu.
Less licence
• The authorisation on the licence held by Tonbridge based PJ Burke (Kent) has been cut from seven to five vehicles at a Sevenoaks disciplinary inquiry.
Claim check
• The licence held by Caerphilly-based Norman Hillier was suspended, with immediate effect, when he failed to appear before South Wales LA John Mervyn Pugh. The LA said an allegation that the vehicle was being used by Hillier's brother, who didn't have a licence, would be investigated.
