Hayden Powell and Trevor Waring, trading as Eastern Valley Transport, of Pontypool, have had their licence revoked and have been disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for five years. They failed to appear before South Wales LA John Mervyn Pugh at a Cardiff public inquiry. The partners held a licence for four vehicles and five trailers based at Cwmbran. The LA said that the firm had appeared at a number of previous public inquiries. It had been asked to produce accounts in June 1994, and again in March this year but had failed to do so (CM 30 March-5 April). Because of this failure he considered that the partners no longer met the requirement to be of good repute and were not fit and proper persons to be involved in the haulage industry.
