• Suzuki has launched a commercial version of the 4x4 Vitara.
With a basic price of £9,995 (ex-VAT), the Vttara Van comes with a 1.9-litre turbo-diesel developing 74hp (561(W) at 4,600rpm with 136111m (991bft) at 2.250rpm.
Suzuki hopes the selectable 4WD system and five-speed box with a low-range transfer box will appeal to the construction, forestry, utility and farming sectors.
The new van is claimed to he "well-endowed", with a specification list including power steering, radio-cassette, tinted glass and heated rear window with wash-wipe. The fuel cap and giovebox are lockable; a key pad immobiliser is also fitted.
Payload of the1,650kg GVW Van is 446kg including the driver, with a maximum braked trailer weight of 850kg.
